Ayantra has created a solution
uniquely tailored for managing mobile road signs.
The Challenge:
Mobile road signs are typically unattended and distributed over a wide
geographic area. Asset managers face the daunting task of
- knowing the location of each unit
- ensuring that it is operating properly
- changing its message content.
The units must also be protected against theft and abuse.
Ayantra can help.
The Solution:
The Ayantra solution, called FleetSign, consists of:
- A monitoring unit - the MAT 510M - installed on the mobile sign
- Ayantra-provided wireless communications to/from each remote unit
- A website to deliver Location Reports, Status Reports, and a web-based interface for updating
sign messages.
Web Services and Alert Notifications:
- All reports and alerts are accessible through a simple web interface. The latest report from each
mobile road sign is immediately displayed upon login.
- Alert notifications are targeted to specific recipients according to the type of violation. Alert
Notifications can be sent in the form of text messages to a cell phone, and/or as email messages.
- The web interface allows authorized users to manage the entire array. Users can create custom asset
descriptions for each unit, target the Alert Notifications to specific recipients, and more.
- A History Log tracks and displays all communications to and from each asset.
Features & Benefits:
- Location Reports: FleetSign automatically reports the location of each mobile road sign, and
displays their locations on a map.
- Alerts and Alarms: FleetSign monitors the status of each mobile road sign and provides real-time
Alert Notifications for:
- Low Battery / Battery Tamper – FleetSign will automatically issue a Low Battery Alert
Notification if the battery level falls below certain thresholds; and it will issue a Battery Tamper
Notification if the battery is disconnected.
- GeoFence violation – should any sign cross its perimeter boundary, FleetSign will detect
a GeoFence Violation. Each GeoFence Violation will cause the system to note the sign’s
current location, begin tracking its movements, and send Alert Notifications to the targeted
recipients.
- Curfew Violations – should any sign be moved or operated at an inappropriate time,
FleetSign will detect a Curfew Violation. Each Curfew Violation will cause the system to note
the vehicle’s current location, begin tracking its movements, and send Alert Notifications to
the targeted recipients.
- Remote message updates: FleetSign provides a web interface to allow authorized users to remotely
create and install new messages onto any mobile road sign.
- Real-Time Updates: Authorized users can “ping” any monitoring unit at any time to collect its up-tothe-
minute Location info and other metrics.
- Jobsite Reporting: Authorized users can specify up to 100 “Jobsites” and ascertain when each mobile
road sign approaches and/or departs each “Jobsite.”
- Maintenance Reports / Reminders: FleetSign automatically issues “Maintenance Due” reminders to
advise you in advance of any scheduled maintenance activities. These reminders help you to achieve
optimal performance and extend the lifespan of your assets.
- PowerSave Mode: the MAT 510M utilizes intelligent power-saving capabilities to reduce power
consumption.
- Back-up Battery: the MAT 510M includes an integrated backup battery.
