Wireless Remote Asset Management - Solution for Managing Refrigerated Trailers.
Fremont, CA
January 3, 2008

Ayantra, Inc., a Fremont CA-based technology company, announced the release of its FleetReefer solution for managing refrigerated trailers.

Refrigerated trailers (“reefers”) carry valuable and perishable cargo. Ensuring safe and reliable operation is paramount. However, most methods to secure reefers have been ineffective, expensive, or otherwise flawed. As a result, many fleets are not properly secured, and trucking companies suffer losses from theft, abuse, and inefficient utilization of their assets.

FleetReefer is a cost-effective solution that utilizes GPS, wireless and web technologies to enable easy management of reefers. The total solution consists of:

  • An Ayantra-provided Monitoring Unit & Zigbee Transceiver installed on the reefer
  • One or more Ayantra-provided Zigbee Wireless Temperature Sensors
  • Ayantra-provided wireless communications services
  • An Ayantra-provided website

FleetReefer automatically reports the Location and Status of each reefer in the fleet. It also monitors compliance with each reefer’s temperature-control requirements. Authorized users can set a specific temperature threshold for each reefer, and receive immediate Alert Notifications if the threshold is violated. Up to three temperature zones can be monitored for each reefer. The temperature sensors issue updates every ten minutes, and all readings are logged by the Ayantra system. Access to all information is available via the Internet.

Ayantra describes the resulting report as a “real-time, wireless strip-chart” for reefer management.

FleetReefer also provides traditional types of fleet management information, including Location Reports, Tracking Reports, Mileage Reports, and Speed Violation Reports. Each Location Report indicates whether the vehicle is moving (presented as a Motion Report), or idling (Idle Report).

Wireless Remote Asset Management - Solution for Managing Trailers.
Fremont, CA
December 4, 2007

Ayantra, Inc., a Fremont CA-based technology company, announced today the release of its FleetTrailer solution for managing trailers.

Trucking companies understand that they must always know the status and location of each of their trailers in order to minimize losses and maximize profits. Unfortunately, most currently available trailer tracking solutions are not effective, due to cost or performance limitations. Consequently, most trailers are not currently monitored, resulting in theft, abuse, and other operational inefficiencies.

Ayantra’s FleetTrailer is a wireless solution that utilizes GPS, wireless and web technologies to enable easy management of trailers. The solution features a small monitoring unit installed on the trailer, and an Ayantra-provided website to deliver tracking reports and other information.

The FleetTrailer solution automatically reports the location and status of each trailer. The monitoring unit immediately sends a Status Report each time the trailer is tethered to a tractor, and each time that it is un-tethered. While tethered, the monitoring unit automatically issues Location Reports at fifteen-minute intervals. Users can also use the web interface to command the unit to issue an up-to-the-minute Location Report at any time. When un-tethered, the monitoring unit issues Location Reports once per week for a period of four weeks.

FleetTrailer includes extensive mapping capabilities. Users may select “Street View,” “Satellite View,” “Hybrid View” (a combination of Street plus Satellite views), and in some cases even a “Bird’s Eye View.” Access to all information is available via the Internet, and all user privileges are determined by secure password access.

The end result is that fleet managers can easily ascertain the location and status of any trailer in their fleet, leading to improved security and enhanced operational efficiencies.

Wireless Remote Asset Management - Solution for Managing Fleet Vehicles.
Fremont, CA
November 6, 2007

Ayantra, Inc., a Fremont CA-based technology company, announced today the release of its FleetSight solution for managing fleet vehicles of all kinds.

Many organizations operate fleets of vehicles to provide deliveries and perform services. Fleet managers must know the location and status of each vehicle to ensure optimal performance. Unfortunately, most currently available fleet monitoring solutions are targeted towards managing large fleets. These solutions are typically too expensive and/or too difficult to operate for most small fleet managers. The end result is that most small fleets are not monitored, leading to security risks and operational inefficiencies.

Ayantra’s FleetSight is a wireless solution that utilizes GPS, wireless and web technologies to enable easy and cost-effective management of fleet vehicles. The solution features a small monitoring unit installed on the vehicle, and an Ayantra-provided website to deliver tracking reports and other information.

The FleetSight solution automatically reports the location and status of each monitored vehicle. The monitoring unit immediately sends a Status Report each time the vehicle’s engine is turned on or off. While the vehicle’s engine is on, the monitoring unit automatically issues Motion Updates at five-minute intervals. Each Motion Update includes the vehicle’s location, its status (in Motion, or Idle), and its speed. Users can also use the web interface to command the unit to issue an up-to-the-minute update at any time.

FleetSight includes extensive mapping capabilities. Users may select either a “Street View,” “Satellite View,” “Hybrid View” (a combination of Street plus Satellite views), or in some cases a “Bird’s Eye View.” Access to all information is available via the Internet, and all user privileges are determined by secure password access.

The end result is that fleet managers can easily ascertain the location and status of any vehicle in their fleet, leading to improved security and enhanced operational efficiencies.

Ayantra, Inc. announces the release of the MAT 404G, a wireless monitoring and control solution for managing generators.
June 1, 2006
Fremont, California

Ayantra, Inc., a Fremont, California-based technology company, announced the release of its new wireless solution for managing remote generators, the MAT 404G.

Providing reliable power is becoming a key priority for many organizations, leading to the increasing use of onsite generators. Generators are often rented, and are occasionally moved between sites. To ensure optimal performance, each generator’s location and engine run-hours should be carefully monitored. Current monitoring methods are often manual, inefficient, time-consuming, and error-prone. As a result, many enterprises lose a significant portion of their assets’ value due to abuse, misplacement, under-utilization, faulty maintenance, or even theft. Managing a fleet of out-of-sight generators can be a daunting task.

Ayantra’s MAT 404G is a cost-effective solution that utilizes GPS, wireless and web technologies to enable easy management of out-of-sight generators. The total solution consists of:

  • An Ayantra monitoring unit installed on the generator
  • Ayantra-provided communications and web services to deliver Location Reports, Run-Hour Reports, Maintenance Reminders, Service Logs, History Logs, and more

The MAT 404G solution automatically delivers Daily reports detailing each generator’s location and engine run-hours. It also detects, reports and issues real-time Alert Notifications for theft, abuse, or unauthorized movement; as well as for various out-of-normal conditions.

Building upon the success of Ayantra’s field-proven MAT 301 and 401 products, the MAT 404G is designed to serve the specific requirements articulated by generator manufacturers, users and owners. The MAT 404G represents Ayantra’s next-generation of wireless remote control management products.

Ayantra Inc. announces a new PowerSave feature for its MAT series of remote asset management products.
January 5, 2006
Fremont, California

Ayantra, Inc, a Fremont, California-based technology company, announced today that it has released a new Power Save feature for its MAT (Mobile Asset Tracker) series of remote asset management products. The new PowerSave feature allows service managers, rental fleet managers, and construction equipment operators to feel confident that their Ayantra monitoring equipment will not drain their equipments’ main battery.

Ayantra provides wireless solutions for managing out-of-sight assets, such as tractors, generators, pumps, and construction equipment. The Ayantra solution consists of an Ayantra monitoring unit installed on each machine, plus Ayantra-provided communications and web services. Each machine-mounted Ayantra monitoring unit draws only a small amount of power, typically 100 mA. Under normal circumstances, the power draw is insignificant. During periods of machine inactivity, however, it is desirable to further reduce the power draw.

Under Ayantra’s new PowerSave feature, each machine-mounted Ayantra monitoring unit will automatically enter its PowerSave mode if the machine’s engine has not been turned on for a pre-defined period of time (typically three days). While in PowerSave mode, the monitoring unit will reduce its power consumption to less than 50 mA (typical). While in PowerSave mode, the unit will continue to issue its regularly-scheduled reports, on either a Daily or Weekly basis. The system will also maintain vigilance while in PowerSave mode, and will detect and report upon various out-of-normal conditions (such as Low Battery, etc.). While in PowerSave mode, each monitoring unit will also continue to enforce its security capabilities, including “Curfew” and “GeoFence,” to ensure against theft or unauthorized movement. Any violation of the “Curfew” or “GeoFence” feature will cause the Ayantra unit to immediately issue an Alert Notification and to exit its PowerSave mode and return to its Normal mode of operation. The monitoring unit will also return to Normal mode when the machine’s engine is turned on.

The new “Power Save” feature was developed as a result of Ayantra’s extensive experience in providing wireless remote asset management solutions to clients in agriculture, construction, and other industrial markets. Ayantra clients expressed satisfaction with the performance provided by the new PowerSave feature.

Ayantra announces the MAT 300 series – its 3rd generation wireless monitoring solution
August 12, 2004
Fremont, California

Ayantra Inc., a Fremont, California-based technology company, announced today that it has released its new MAT 300 series of remote asset management solutions, targeted for organizations seeking to monitor and control valuable out-of-sight assets.

The MAT 300 series represents the company’s third-generation of wireless remote asset management products. Previous versions are in use to monitor private vehicles, bus fleets, and other industrial assets.

The MAT 300 solutions enable equipment owners to easily monitor and control their assets, regardless of location. The MAT 300 solutions provide timely updates regarding each asset’s location, engine run-hours, and other metrics. Asset information is provided via web access, and via alert notifications sent to cell phones and/or email. Target users include Construction Equipment manufacturers and dealers; Equipment Rental companies; and Agriculture Equipment manufacturers and dealers.

The release of the MAT 300 products follows extensive field testing performed in California’s central valley and in Canada. Test protocols included extended uninterrupted operation and continuous vibration over a wide variety of conditions, including ambient temperatures ranging from 14 degrees to over 100 degrees F. The industrial engines monitored included John Deere, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, and others.

Remote monitoring and control can deliver significant operational advantages to organizations with far-flung assets. Equipment dealers and rental companies appreciate the ability to know, at a glance, the location and engine run-hours of any asset. Key benefits include greater control, an improved ability to schedule maintenance activities, improved customer service, and reductions in manpower.

Agriculture clients also benefit from remote monitoring and control. One test client stated “This technology should help us save a lot of time and money. We won’t have to visit each of our pumps to make sure that they’re all operating properly. And if the monitoring system helps us to avoid even a single catastrophic pump failure, it would pay for itself many times over.”
