Ayantra, Inc, a Fremont, California-based technology company, announced today that it has released a new Power Save feature for its MAT (Mobile Asset Tracker) series of remote asset management products. The new PowerSave feature allows service managers, rental fleet managers, and construction equipment operators to feel confident that their Ayantra monitoring equipment will not drain their equipments’ main battery.
Ayantra provides wireless solutions for managing out-of-sight assets, such as tractors, generators, pumps, and construction equipment. The Ayantra solution consists of an Ayantra monitoring unit installed on each machine, plus Ayantra-provided communications and web services. Each machine-mounted Ayantra monitoring unit draws only a small amount of power, typically 100 mA. Under normal circumstances, the power draw is insignificant. During periods of machine inactivity, however, it is desirable to further reduce the power draw.
Under Ayantra's new PowerSave feature, each machine-mounted Ayantra monitoring unit will automatically enter its PowerSave mode if the machine’s engine has not been turned on for a pre-defined period of time (typically three days). While in PowerSave mode, the monitoring unit will reduce its power consumption to less than 50 mA (typical). While in PowerSave mode, the unit will continue to issue its regularly-scheduled reports, on either a Daily or Weekly basis. The system will also maintain vigilance while in PowerSave mode, and will detect and report upon various out-of-normal conditions (such as Low Battery, etc.). While in PowerSave mode, each monitoring unit will also continue to enforce its security capabilities, including "Curfew" and "GeoFence," to ensure against theft or unauthorized movement. Any violation of the "Curfew" or "GeoFence" feature will cause the Ayantra unit to immediately issue an Alert Notification and to exit its PowerSave mode and return to its Normal mode of operation. The monitoring unit will also return to Normal mode when the machine’s engine is turned on.
The new "Power Save" feature was developed as a result of Ayantra's extensive experience in providing wireless remote asset management solutions to clients in agriculture, construction, and other industrial markets. Ayantra clients expressed satisfaction with the performance provided by the new PowerSave feature.
