Wireless Remote Asset Management - Solution for Managing Rough Terrain Cranes
Fremont, CA
June 10, 2008
Ayantra, Inc., a Fremont CA-based technology company, announced the release of its FleetLift solution for managing rough terrain cranes.
Rough terrain cranes often operate in remote locations. Fleet managers typically find their machines dispersed over a wide area. Collecting engine run-hour information for scheduling timely service calls can be a time-consuming task. Recognizing the challenge, Ayantra developed FleetLift specifically to enable service managers to easily track the Location, Status, and Engine Run-Hours of each of their machines.
FleetLift utilizes GPS, wireless and web technologies to track and report each crane's location, status and engine run-hours. The solution features an Ayantra-provided monitoring unit that is installed onto each rough terrain crane; wireless communications provided by Ayantra; and an Ayantra-provided website. Ayantra describes the program as "A complete, end-to-end solution that enables fleet managers to collect the information they need to run their shop more effectively."
The FleetLift monitoring unit includes four user-configurable Input ports for reporting Fault conditions. The system also provides two forms of security: a "GeoFence" feature that warns if the machine is moved beyond a pre-defined boundary, and a "Curfew" feature to provide notice if the machine is used during a prohibited time of day or night. Ayantra described the system as web-based and easy to use.
An Ayantra spokesman commented "Service organizations today are responsible for doing more work with less people. They must use good tools to get the job done right. FleetLift is ideally suited to any service organization managing a fleet of rough terrain cranes that are distributed over a wide geographic area."
FleetLift joins Ayantra’s FleetSavvy suite of wireless solutions for managing industrial assets. Other members of the FleetSavvy suite include FleetQuip (for managing Heavy Equipment), FleetGen (for managing Generators), FleetPump (for managing Pumps), and FleetSight (for managing on-road vehicles).
