On-Road Crane Management & Tracking - FleetRig

Truck-Mounted & On-Road Crane Management & Telemetry

Ayantra - a leading developer of remote asset management solutions has created a solution for managing truck-mounted, on-road cranes.

The Challenge:

FleetRig

Truck mounted cranes often move over a wide geographic area. Fleet managers need to know the location and status of each vehicle in order to:

  • manage field operations
  • schedule timely maintenance services
  • support Billing and Invoicing operations

Unfortunately, present methods of collecting location and usage information from these geographically-dispersed vehicles are typically manual, time-consuming, expensive, and often error-prone.

Managing and monitoring a fleet of on-road cranes is a difficult task. Ayantra can help.

The Solution:

Ayantra’s FleetRig is a web-based wireless solution for managing on-raod cranes, work trucks or any vehicle equipped with Power Take-Off (PTO). It can manage any make or model vehicle, and easily supports hybrid fleets.

Chart showing how FleetRig works.

The total solution consists of:

  • An Ayantra crane monitoring unit installed inside or on the truck.
  • An Ayantra-provided website to deliver location reports, engine run-hour updates, maintenance reminders, asset utilization information, asset history logs, and more.

Key Features

  • LOCATION and TRACKING: The FleetRig monitoring unit reports each time the vehicle's engine is turned ON and OFF. It also sends Tracking Reports at regularly-scheduled, user-selectable intervals whenever the vehicle's engine is ON. Each report includes the vehicle's Location, Speed, Mileage, Battery Level, and accumulated Power Take Off (PTO) hours.
  • PTO RUN-HOURS: The FleetRig monitoring automatically reports each time the vehicle’s PTO is turned ON or OFF. The website collects the information from the remote units, and automatically displays the up-to-date PTO Run-Hours for each vehicle. Key benefits include:
    • Service intervals - PTO Run-Hour info enables timely maintenance for each machine.
    • Reductions in manpower - eliminates the requirement to manually collect hour-meter readings
    • Increased efficiency – usage reports enable fleet managers to optimize utilization
    • Improved accuracy – automated data collection eliminates reporting errors
  • "SERVICE DUE" REMINDERS: FleetRig can issue “Service Due” reminders based upon the vehicle Mileage, and/or its PTO Run-Hours.
  • FAULTS: The FleetRig monitoring unit includes four user-configurable inputs to report Fault events.
  • ALERT NOTIFICATIONS: FleetRig can issue real-time Alert Notifications sent as text messages and/or as email messages. Alert Notifications are available for:
    • Faults - users can access the website to specify up to four different types of Fault events, and receive Alert Notifications when Faults occur.
    • Speeding Violation - users can specify a "Speed Limit" for each vehicle, and be notified if it is exceeded.
    • Curfew Violation – users can define a "curfew" for each truck. If the truck is used during the prohibited "curfew" period, FleetRig will immediately report a Curfew Violation.
    • GeoFence Violation – users can define a virtual boundary - called a GeoFence - around any key site. A GeoFence Violation can be reported each time the vehicle approaches or departs from the site.
    • Low Battery Notification – the monitoring unit continually audits the truck's battery level, and can issue a Low Battery Alert Notification if the battery weakens.
    • Battery Tamper Notification - the monitoring unit can send a Battery Tamper Alert Notification if the battery is disconnected.
    • Maintenance Due – users can specify different maintenance intervals for each truck, and receive reminders when service is due.
  • BACKUP BATTERY: A built-in backup battery enables the monitoring unit to operate if the main battery is disconnected.
  • REAL-TIME UPDATES: Authorized users can collect up-to-the minute updates from any truck, at any time.
